maccloud.me is operated by Untangled Technology. Anyone can open a free account, reserve hardware and try a demo unit with a small daily allowance. Dedicated machines are paid from prepaid credit, drawn down by the day. We don't sell your data, we don't store your card number, and we only keep demo prompts long enough to keep the service safe. Details below.
Terms of Service
By creating an account, submitting a reservation, or using the maccloud console (console.maccloud.me), you agree to these terms. maccloud.me ("maccloud", "we", "us") is a service operated by Untangled Technology that provides single-tenant Mac Studio and Mac mini hardware for AI/ML and development workloads.
- You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter a binding agreement. If you use maccloud on behalf of a company, you agree to these terms on its behalf.
- Machines are provided on a dedicated, single-tenant basis — a machine assigned to you is not shared with other customers. Demo units are shared and are covered separately below.
- Prices shown at the time of your request are our current daily rates; general-availability pricing may differ, and we confirm your rate by email before any billing starts.
- Estimated lead times, launch windows and restock dates are our best current estimate and are not guaranteed delivery dates.
- We may update these terms from time to time. We'll change the "Last updated" date above and, for material changes, email account holders. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised terms.
Accounts & the free plan
Every maccloud account starts on the free plan. A free account can sign in to the console, view reservations, add prepaid credit, and use demo units within the free allowance. No payment method is required to open one.
- One free account per person. Keep your sign-in details secure; you're responsible for activity under your account.
- Please confirm your email address when we ask — unconfirmed accounts can't sign back in once they sign out. Reserving on maccloud.me creates an account in your name and emails you a link to set a password.
- Free-plan allowances (such as the daily demo limit) are shown in the console and may change. We may limit, suspend or close free accounts that are abused, automated, duplicated, or left unconfirmed.
- You can close your account at any time by emailing support from the address on the account. Unused credit is handled as described under Credit, billing & cancellations.
Credit, billing & cancellations
A reservation is not a binding purchase and does not charge your payment method. You will not be billed for a machine until it is provisioned and ready, and our team confirms configuration, pricing and billing details with you by email first.
- Service is priced per machine, per day, and paid from prepaid account credit. You can fund your account with as little as one day of service.
- Each active machine draws down its daily rate from your account credit. We'll email you as your credit runs low. When credit reaches zero, machines are suspended — not wiped — and resume when credit is added.
- Activating a machine for 30 days is discounted 10%, and activating for 365 days is discounted 20%. Discounted activations are paid in advance for the full term.
- Credit doesn't expire while your account is open, isn't tied to a specific machine, and can't be transferred to another account or exchanged for cash except where required by law.
- Payments are processed by Stripe. Prices are in US dollars; applicable taxes may be added at checkout.
- You may cancel a reservation at any time before launch with no charge.
- Once a machine is active, cancellation takes effect at the end of the current activation period; we do not provide prorated refunds for partially used 30- or 365-day activations unless required by law. If you believe you were charged in error, contact support before filing a dispute with your card issuer — we'll make it right quickly.
- We reserve the right to decline or cancel a reservation, for example if we're unable to verify the details you provided.
Demo units & AI output
Signed-in accounts can send a limited number of prompts to a language model running on a shared maccloud demo machine, so you can try the hardware before you reserve it.
- Demo units are shared, best-effort and rate-limited. Availability, models and allowances may change or be paused at any time.
- Don't submit confidential, regulated or personal information (such as health, financial or government ID data) to a demo unit. Dedicated machines are where private workloads belong.
- AI output can be inaccurate, incomplete or offensive. It isn't professional advice; check it before relying on it. You're responsible for how you use what the model produces.
- Open-weight models are provided under their own licenses; your use of their output is also subject to those licenses.
- We keep demo prompts and responses for up to 30 days to prevent abuse and troubleshoot problems, then delete them. We don't use them to train models and don't share them except as described in the privacy policy.
Acceptable use
You're responsible for the workloads, data, and configuration you run on maccloud hardware, including demo units. You agree not to use maccloud to:
- Violate any applicable law, or the intellectual property or privacy rights of a third party.
- Generate or distribute content that sexualizes minors, promotes violence or harassment, or is designed to deceive (for example, fraud, phishing or impersonation).
- Send unsolicited bulk communications, mine cryptocurrency in a way that breaches your plan's fair-use expectations, or launch attacks, scans or denial-of-service against other systems.
- Create multiple accounts, automate sign-ups, or script the demo units to get around free-plan limits.
- Attempt to circumvent the security or metering of the console, KVM, PDU, or network infrastructure shared across maccloud's fleet.
We may suspend access to an account or machine that we reasonably believe is being used in violation of these terms, and will make a good-faith effort to notify you first except where immediate action is required to protect the fleet, other customers or third parties.
Service, warranties & liability
- We work hard to keep machines and the console available, but the service — and especially the free plan and demo units — is provided "as is" without guarantees of uninterrupted availability.
- You're responsible for backing up data on your machine. Hardware can fail; keep copies of anything you can't afford to lose.
- To the extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 3 months before the claim, and we aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses such as lost profits or data.
Privacy policy
We collect only what we need to run your account and the service, and we don't sell your personal information.
- Account information: name, email, and optionally phone and company — from sign-up, the reservation form, or your account settings. Your password is stored only as a one-way hash; we can't see it.
- Reservations & billing: the machines you reserve, your credit balance and transaction history. Card payments are handled by Stripe: your card number is entered on Stripe's systems and never stored on ours. We keep only what Stripe returns, such as the card brand, last four digits and expiry, to show you which card is on file.
- Demo prompts: prompts and responses you send to demo units, kept for up to 30 days as described above.
- Security & usage data: IP address, sign-in times, and a log of security-relevant actions (such as password changes and sign-in attempts), used to protect accounts, enforce limits and investigate abuse. Security logs are kept for up to 12 months.
- Machine data: we don't access the contents of your dedicated machine except to provide support you request, to respond to a security incident or abuse report, or where required by law. We do monitor whether it's reachable and powered.
- Website analytics: maccloud.me uses Google Analytics to understand aggregate traffic (pages viewed, approximate location, device and browser type).
- Email: we send account, security, reservation and billing emails, delivered through Amazon Web Services. We'll only send marketing email if you ask for it, and every marketing email will let you opt out.
- Who we share it with: service providers who help us operate — Stripe (payments), Amazon Web Services (email delivery), Google (website analytics) — only as needed to provide the service, and authorities when legally required.
- Where it's stored: account data is stored on servers we operate in the United States.
- Your choices: you can view and update your profile in the console, and ask us to access, export, correct or delete your personal information by emailing support. When you close your account, we delete your personal information within 30 days, except billing records we must keep for tax and accounting purposes (typically up to 7 years).
Cookies
- Console (console.maccloud.me): a single essential session cookie that keeps you signed in. It expires when you close your browser or after 8 hours of inactivity, and isn't used for tracking or advertising.
- Website (maccloud.me): Google Analytics cookies, used only for aggregate traffic statistics. You can block them with your browser settings or a standard opt-out extension without affecting the site.
